ZÜRICH – Eine Studie der Uni Zürich belegt: Rechtsextremes Denken geben die Eltern an ihre Kinder weiter.Wenn Jugendliche rechtsextreme Einstellungen vertreten – also sowohl die Menschenrechte als auch den demokratischen Rechtsstaat ablehnen – und zu gewalttätigen Handlungen neigen, spielen die Familien und das nahe soziale Umfeld eine entscheidende Rolle. Dies ist das Ergebnis der 2003 vom Bund in Auftrag gegebenen Studie «Familienerziehung und Rechtsextremismus» der Universität Zürich. Forschungsleiter Thomas Gabriel hält fest, dass die Jugendlichen und ihre Familien keine «Modernisierungsverlierer» seien, also entgegen den Behauptungen bisheriger Forschungen keine Opfer von ökonomischen und gesellschaftlichen Wandlungsprozessen. Häusliche Gewalt und Konflikte im sozialen Umfeld spielten hingegen wohl eine wichtige Rolle, heisst es im Bericht der Universität.
