[TA/sda] – Die kurze Demarche sei Ende letzter Woche dem libanesischen Aussenministerium übergeben worden, sagte EDA-Informationschef Ruedi Christen am Mittwoch auf Anfrage. Damit habe sich Bern von der Person Grafs distanziert. Die Demarche erfolgte aus Sorge um den Ruf der Schweiz.An Iran, wo Graf sich seit November mehrheitlich aufhalten soll, erging keine Demarche aus Bern, wie Christen vom Eidg. Departement für auswärtige Angelegenheiten (EDA) ergänzte. Graf will in der libanesischen Hauptstadt zwischen dem 31. März und dem 3. April einen Kongress zum Thema «Revisionismus und Zionismus» durchführen.Graf war im Juli 1998 vom Bezirksgericht Baden wegen mehrfacher Rassendiskriminierung und Beschimpfung zu 15 Monaten Gefängnis unbedingt und einer Busse von 8000 Franken verurteilt worden. Das Urteil wurde im April 2000 vom Bundesgericht bestätigt.In Basel läuft ein Verfahren gegen Graf wegen Rassendiskriminierung. Im letzten August wurde er ein erstes Mal einvernommen. Dann tauchte er unter. Sowohl Aargau wie auch Basel- Stadt schrieben ihn zur Verhaftung aus, aber nicht international.

Das EDA hat sich in einer Demarche an Libanon vom verurteilten Basler Holocaust-Leugner Jürgen Graf distanziert. Das Departement sah sich wegen eines von Graf geplanten Revisionisten-Kongresses in Beirut zu diesem Schritt veranlasst.
